About Us
THE CREW
Captain Ken has over 30 years of experience fishing Navajo Lake. In recent years the focus has been on locating and catching Kokanee Salmon.
You become part of the crew — helping steer the boat while the rods are set on the downriggers. Your main job is simply reeling in the fish!
Trips are relaxed, educational, and designed for all skill levels.
THE BOAT
The Reel Deal is a 28-foot Sport Fish 272, built specifically for serious fishing. You’ll see boats like this on the Great Lakes and offshore on the East Coast.
She has a large open deck and a wide, stable platform ideal for trolling. The boat is equipped with two Canon Digi-Troll Tournament Series electric downriggers, allowing up to four poles in the water at once.
We use lightweight Kokanee rods and Daiwa reels that make landing these salmon both challenging and fun. It’s a perfect fishing boat for Navajo Lake salmon.
RATES FOR CHARTERING THE REEL DEAL
Kokanee Salmon Trolling Trip
• 1–2 persons: $600
• Each additional person: $50
• Average trip length: about 5 hours
Scenic Trips (No Trolling)
• $150 per hour (up to 6 people)
• 2-hour minimum
Trips generally start around 8:00 AM. Meet at the Navajo Lake Marina.
Light snacks, fresh water, and soft drinks are provided on all trips. Pack personal items in a backpack or similar-sized bag.
All fish are filleted and packed in ice for you to take home.
